This is how I became a member of #avanceteam

I first learned about Avance in 2019 as a law student when I attended a Christmas lunch organized by the Helsinki Bar Association, where I met an Avance team member who encouraged me to apply for a traineeship. One thing led to another, and I began my journey as a Trainee at Avance in 2020. After completing two traineeships and graduating from the law school, I started as an Associate in the Capital Markets team in 2022. In autumn 2023, I transitioned to the Dispute Resolution team.

Memorable moments during my career at Avance

I have had the privilege of working on fascinating cases that have challenged me intellectually and allowed me to grow as a lawyer. Additionally, the ski trips to Switzerland with the Avance team in 2022 and 2024 have been fun and memorable experiences.

The open and supportive environment created by my amazing colleagues has made every step of my journey at Avance truly rewarding. The open office fosters collaboration, encourages spontaneous conversations, and makes it easier to exchange ideas.

I want to work with dispute resolution matters at Avance because

Working in dispute resolution at Avance allows me to engage with a diverse range of cases, keeping the work both challenging and intriguing. Additionally, being part of a team with a high level of expertise is incredibly rewarding and educating.

My typical day at work

The tasks vary each day, making it difficult to describe what a typical day looks like. Generally, my work involves participating in client and internal meetings, drafting legal documents, and preparing for or attending court hearings.

Some of my unusual days at work

We have many fun company events at Avance. For example, during our Capital Markets team day, we visited a shooting range.

Tips & tricks: how to succeed as a lawyer at Avance

Being curious, kind and collaborative is an excellent starting point. Additionally, having an attention to detail is equally important.
